Old Bisbee Arts & Entertainment at The Oliver House

Incorporated in 1902, modern-day Bisbee is known for its rich history, diverse community, and natural beauty. A quick walk about our little mountain town will surely place you in Old Bisbee—the heart and soul of our city. As you stroll around town, you’ll see historic architecture and miner’s homes alongside small businesses—everything from your local psychics and Old West-inspired alehouses to art galleries and music venues.

Bisbee was a primarily a mining town until Phelps Dodge closed the mine in 1975. After that, the town became quiet and needed a boost of energy. In the 1980s and 1990s, when many of the properties were abandoned or being sold for the prices of back taxes owed, many artists began to move in and revitalize the town into what it has become today. Without it's thriving art community, Bisbee may have become just another desolate desert town.

The Oliver House is a part of that thriving history, as it continued on and became a Hotel in the 1980s. While breakfast hasn't been included in much of its history, it has a reputation as a Bed & Breakfast in Bisbee.

Old Bisbee & The Oliver House

Nestled away in a quiet corner of Old Bisbee, The Oliver House is the ideal sanctuary that will keep you within walking distance of our historic city’s vibrant arts and culture district.

Art has always been a mainstay here and our many galleries invite visitors and residents alike to enjoy the monthly Art Walk to explore and discover your next favorite local artist.

If galleries aren’t your cup of tea, our local artists have devoted their time and skill to populating the city with various sculptures, murals, and other public art pieces. You never know where you might find a little piece of magic!

Not only does our neighborhood offer an array of visual appeal, but you’ll find plenty of live music to enjoy—from street performers (buskers) to traveling acts. Local businesses are all about supporting each other and the arts and are dedicated to bringing in the best of hometown and national artists for your (and our) enjoyment.
